The FTC recently made available a pretty neat privacy in socieal networking sites awareness raising quiz, “Buddy Builder.”
While this is provided to the general public to help them understand the risks of such sites as FaceBook, it would also be a good awareness tool for businesses to use to make their employees more aware of the risks of providing personal information on these types of sites. Although it is targeted to kids and teens, the adults I’ve spoken to like it as well. Additionally, by making your employees aware of this site they can in turn take it home to share with their family members. Raising awareness of business privacy issues while at the same time raising awareness for personal privacy is always a good thing and reinforces the importance of addressing privacy in all aspects of life; at work as well as away from work.
